My blog post last week was: Happy Mother’s Day – for those who aren’t so happy about it.
After writing that, I thought about what my mother said when we asked her what she wanted as a present for her birthday or Mother’s Day.
Her answer was always the same: “I just want you to be nice to one another.”
Mum wanted her children to get on with each other. I’m not sure if she ever got her wish completely. I don’t know why I used to fight with my siblings when we were younger. Maybe it was because we thought we needed to compete for attention.
When we asked Mum what gift she wanted, she said, “Just be nice to one another.” God wants us to love, EVEN our enemies. But is that even possible?
