When I’m feeling unloved, stressed, sick, tired, or just low, I find this song changes things. It tells the story of our heavenly father’s love for us. Remembering the great love of the Father never ceases to amaze me. It lifts me out of my own troubles, and points to a love we can’t imagine. Jesus carrying MY sin on His shoulders; dying so that I can live; paying the ransom so that I can be redeemed. Like the song says, I’m ashamed to hear my own mocking voice calling out among the scoffers. It’s amazing grace. Jesus didn’t have to save me, but He chose to! How deep the Father’s love for us!
Jesus died for you too. He has paid the price for your sin. Hallelujah!

How Deep the Father’s Love by Stuart Townend
How deep the Father’s love for us
How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
(REPEAT)
This beautiful song brings me to tears. I think I’d like to have it at my funeral.
