Easter Makes the Impossible Possible

How exciting for Artemis II to be the first crewed lunar mission for 50 years, NASA Artemis II. Right now, the world seems to be a mess. So, it’s great to have some good news for a change. We’ve just celebrated Easter, remembering the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Easter is good news for everyone!

Jesus died because of OUR sin, bearing the consequences we deserved. He rose from death – a human impossibility. But not impossible for God:

What is impossible with man is possible with God.

Luke 18:27

Jesus was raised, so those who believe will be also raised to eternal life with Him:

He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Romans 4:25

On our own, we can never work our way into heaven. But thank God, Jesus has paid the price for us.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

The following is by Pastor Matt Wilksch, Arise, Springfield, and used with permission:

“In a week of turbulence, it was a joy to see the successful space mission of Artemis II.  Four astronauts returned to earth after ten days in space, circling the moon.  There were many remarkable moments, such as the naming of a newly identified crater as “Crater Caroll” after the late wife of astronaut Reid Weismann, because it’s “a bright spot on the moon”; experiencing a lunar eclipse from space; and successfully re-entering earth’s atmosphere after travelling at speeds up to 40,000kph; and splashing down within 20 seconds and 1 mile of the target. Remarkable stuff!  This mission has refocused us on what is possible when humanity works together to achieve great things.  There will be real world benefits that flow from this other worldly expedition.

As mind-blowingly difficult as space travel is, it is but a trifle when compared to raising the dead.  By raising Jesus from the dead, God makes rocket science look easy!  Jesus died and was buried in a tomb with the entrance sealed by a large stone.  Raising the dead is not just difficult for human beings, it is impossible!

The joy of Easter, and the joy of knowing God as we do, is that God has power to do things we can’t.  Creating out of nothing, forgiving sins, raising the dead – we can’t but God can, God has, and God does!

Our lives as Easter people, mean we believe God can accomplish things we cannot.  We never lose hope in any impossible circumstance, because what is impossible with mortals is possible with God.

May you live your lives with Easter hope, knowing there is no situation beyond God’s ability to help!”
